MOBILITY IN CZECH REPUBLIC

The third mobility of the Project Erasmus Plus “Building a better future” took place from 13th to 20th October 2019 in Liberec, Czech Republic. The Italian students of “I.C. F.lli Linguiti” Arciello Simona, Bassi Benedetta, Brancaccio Andrea, Di Muro Anna, Gabola Giacomo, Giannattasio Paolo, Iuliucci Mariateresa and Russo Racheleantonia with the two teachers  Brancaccio Arianna and Sciumanò Elia visited the Czech school “Zàkladini Skola Barvirska”in Liberec and were warmly welcomed by the partners. The Italian students together with the Czech, Slovenian and Polish partners worked on an ecological theme: food miles and carbon footprint. Therefore, before leaving to Czech Republic they had specific lessons and they worked on the realization of pie charts, excel files and power point presentations about those topics. To carry out their research, they had to find out information about their territory, local products, food habits and average emissions and savings related to their lifestyle.

The programme of the mobility to Czech Republic was really interesting and rich in activities. All the partners arrived to Liberec on Sunday 13th October and students were welcomed by the hosting families. On Monday, 14th, students and teachers visited “Barvisrka” school in Liberec. There was an official welcome for the partners, the introduction of the programme and the presentations of countries, schools and cities. After that, the students took part to a workshop about the carbon footprint and food miles surveys. They were divided into international teams and worked together with the foreign friends. In the afternoon we visited the town hall in Beneš square and we had a walk in Liberec centre. On Tuesday, 15th October we took part to a day bus trip to Sychrov Castle where we had a very interesting guided tour. In the afternoon we visited Český ráj (Bohemian Paradise) and had a walk in the rocks and forests of this geopark UNESCO, the oldest protected natural area in the Czech Rep.

On Wednesday, 16th October, we had a meeting at school during which students finished the activities about carbon footprint and food miles and teachers discussed during an Erasmus team meeting.  In the morning students really enjoyed themselves at the local Urban Jump arena. Teachers were involved in a workshop about  useful websites, applications and other ICT tools in language teaching and learning. In the afternoon we had an amazing visit to Science centre IQlandia. On Thursday 17th October we had a day bus trip tp the capital. We had a walking tour around best tourist attractions in Prague: Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square with astronomical clock, Wenceslas Square etc. and had some free time. It was really a special day! On Friday we met at school; students walked around classes and introduced themselves to Czech pupils while teachers visited the Kindergarten. After that there was a great activity, Jeopardy game, followed by the final ceremony during which we exchanged presents and took pictures. After lunch we visited  Ještěd mountain by tram and cable car and the we walked back to the tram stop. On Saturday, Italian students had a free day with the hosting families. We left Prague on Sunday, 20th October.

VISIT IN ITALY

From the 25th February to 1st March two Teachers and eight students from the partners countries, came to Giffoni Valle Piana , Italy, for the first of the three planned mobilities , to visit  F.lli Linguiti Secondary school.

Students were engaged to present the traces of the partners found in their countries. to discuss, compare and analyze them  and, together, touch with their hand that the borders are only conventionally given and that there is Always a link between peoples, in the past as  in the present and  that we are all citizens of one nation that, in our case, is Europe.

The pupils were also called to catch the similarities and the differences they have learnt from each other in order to create a ‘survival kit of dos and don’ts in a foreign country’ during the next mobility in May in Slovenia.

The collaboration of F.lli Linguity school  with the ‘GIFFONI EXPERIENCE’ and the attention that the organization has Always placed on Young people and students, couldn’t be absent in this occasion offering a moment of professional enrichment to students and Teachers through an interactive journey  that unveiled the main thechniques, styles, genres and form of cinematographic Language, in order to develop digital creativity and give tips to create a video able to convey to the audience a ‘particular’ message.

Between  one activity and another the visitors  walked around in Giffoni With the help of the Pro Loco guides, Salerno, Pompei, Napoli, La Costiera e Paestum and had a little taste of the regional cuisine.
